why i have 80+ pairs of shoes

cant live without them.

color me spring

alright so let the craziness begin. this looks like pretty much the most fun since sprinklers in the summer and i am convinced that if we are available this weekend . . . COUNT ME IN. here is the gist: to bring in the spring you throw powered colors all over each other! simple, yet genius. check out this little link to view all of the festivities, facebook.com/event.

over rated

alright i have decided that the pizza factory is officially awful. lets just say that our server took just enough time between her gossip sessions and nail polish applications to throw our plates down, that the salad bar is a little less than sub par and minus those delightful bread twists, their food ain't that tasty and is certainly not worth the pretty pennies your have to fork over for a crunchy miniature pizza. boycott.

memory lane

here's a trip: this is a picture of me as a little girl on easter in oregon. as easter represents 'new life' and 're-birth' i have been thinking about changes i have made in my life and how far i have come from that little innocent child livin in the ghetto;) all i can express is my deep gratitude for my Savior, who, through His sacrifice and example, i am able to be where i am today and able to progress to where i want to be in the future. how indebted i am to Him for His enduring love and perfect example.

"At this wonderful season of hope and renewal we testify of the glorious reality of the atonement and resurrection of the Lord, Jesus Christ. Of all the victories in human history, none is so great, none so universal in its effect, none so everlasting in its consequences as the victory of the crucified Lord, who came forth in the resurrection that first Easter morning."

beauty is pain

despite what anyone tells you, waxing . . . is painful. there is no way around it, if you want a hairlessly smooth body, you must endure the sharp burning pain of having the hairs ripped from you over and over again. like they say beauty is pain and my hairless legs (name you, after i got all the lint covered wax off my legs and the red bumps disppeared) are quite nice!

wax on, wax off

alright this is kinda graphic, but i am really done with body hair; like every form of hair on my body grosses me out. in my dream world . . . razors, shaving cream and those awesome itchy burns, and the knarley cuts that accompany them would be no more, just a hairless existance. i guess i have always just bitten the bullet with shaving, but that is all over. i have concluded that since my pocket book is not large enough yet to cater to my deep laser desires to remove any and all hair from my body, i will settle with second best; waxing. mind you, i have never waxxed anything seriously other than my eyebrows and that freakin killed. i am preparing for the worst here people. i mean really what could be worse than waxing your full leg and bikini all in one sitting? dang this girl lookin so flippin happy; really are you still smiling when you get massive amounts of hair folicles ripped from the pore by a merciless stranger . . . think not.

color coded

you are violet
#EE82EE

Your dominant hues are red and blue. You're confident and like showing people new ideas. You play well with others and can be very influential if you want to be.

Your saturation level is lower than average - You don't stress out over things and don't understand people who do. Finishing projects may sometimes be a challenge, but you schedule time as you see fit and the important things all happen in the end, even if not everyone sees your grand master plan.

Your outlook on life is bright. You see good things in situations where others may not be able to, and it frustrates you to see them get down on everything.

I am not so sure if my boyfriend would believe this, but ha ha ha those internet tests know you better than anything/anyone else.

bring on the rain

for the first time, i think, ever since moving to utah i woke up to the sound of rain! some may find this kind of ironic seeing as a swear that i will never move back to oregon because of the constant drizzle that both makes my hair greasy and frizzy at the same time, but makes me want to gouge out my eyes with a spoon and slowly attempt to end my depressing life. hence my shock that the rain was a surprisingly refeshing sound tapping at my window this morning. i honestly forgot how much a miss the rain . . .(grinding of teeth) never thought that i would say that.*picture of my lovely portland on a rainy day

wikipedia

in my exciting life as a customer service slave, i have referenced the ever reliable source, wikipedia about a little obsession that i have with the cardigan. this delightful, lightweight and fashionable article of clothing is defined as a cardigan: a type of sweater/jumper that ties, buttons or zips down the front; by contrast, a pullover doen not open in fron, but forns a solid tube around the torso. the cardigan was numbed after James Thomas Brundenell, 7th Earl of Cardigan, a British military commander, following his service in the Crimean War. it is usually machine or hand knitted from wool or cotton. cardigans are available for both sexes, but are more typically worn by women(e.g. the classic twinset). cardigans are also popular in twee fashion.
*i am pretty much in LOVE with this little number by Gwen Stefani's line L.A.M.B.

dreamin of hawthorne

being here is utah has caused me to miss a few little things about oregon. besides the gloomy rainy days, the frizzy hair and depression that accompanies the constant drizzle or downpour, i miss the shopping! they say you never know a good thing until you no longer have it; how true that statement is!?

my favorite spot to shop in all of portland is hawthorne. i miss the grungy atmosphere, the vintage clothes and the total bargains and special little finds that go hand in hand with that street. just the thought of hawthorne brings me back to days of meeting up with my best friend breanne and just roaming into every single little shop, just for the heck of it and laughing till my face hurt; of finding a dank parking spot with my brother and running into 'red light' like a little kid into a candy shop and then dressing up in things we knew we would never buy just for a good laugh.

you better believe that i am saving up my pennies until i have a chance to grace this blessed stress again in a month. hawthore here i come!!

food for thought

"love like anything that is harmonic and beautiful, requires endless dicipline, terrible periods of the self at war with the self, tortures of involvement (you vastly increase your capacities for pain when you identify with someone else) and an infinite patience. is it worth it? well, millions have compassed land and sea to reach the shrine of far lesser satisfactions"

you dont know how lovely

Come up to meet you
Tell you I'm sorry
You don't know how lovely you are
I had to find you
Tell you I need you
Tell you I set you apart
Tell me your secrets
And ask me your questions
Oh let's go back to the start
Running in circles
Coming up tails
Heads on a silence apart
Nobody said it was easy
It's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be this hard
Oh take me back to the start
I was just guessing
At numbers and figures
Pulling your puzzles apart
Questions of science
Science and progress
Do not speak as loud as my heart
Tell me you love me
Come back and haunt me
Oh and I rush to the start
Running in circles
Chasing our tails
Coming back as we are
Nobody said it was easy
Oh it's such a shame for us to part
Nobody said it was easy
No one ever said it would be so hard
I'm going back to the start

baby steps

i really took on jewelry making as a hobby of sorts that would give me something to do while i vegged out during the winter months in front of the TV. last night i dove in head first and went to town on designing and creating. i asked my cousin Kacie to be a walking advertisement and wear her favorite creation of mine to work. lo and behold my efforts have paid off! my first sale baby and just hours after creation, i could not be more pleased! i will soon be posting pictures of the designs and start testing out logo ideas . . . start spreadin the news: there is a new designer in town:)

bridge over troubled waters

do you ever feel like everything is going great and then out of no where you get hit with a million awful little things at once? do you ever get the feeling that you are making all the right choices for all the wrong reasons, or that you just keep making mistakes? do you ever feel that when things feel like they cant get any better, they take a turn for the worst? people, i need advice. i dont really care what it is, just some nice words of wisdom to calm my troubled mind. attempt @ originality

the irony. i find it so humorous, especially living in Provo, how in the course of trying to be super original . . . everyone turns out the same. everyone gets pissed when their 'fav' band that they found years ago has 'sold out' and their music is now on the radio. the phrase, 'i so did that like a year ago' is quite common and the 'underground' vintage and music scenes, in reality, arent so underground . i found this blog listing all the things, ironically, that white people like particular to our race. check out stuff whitepeople like, to view the full list and have yourself a good laugh. the following are a few things a found to be true about my little white trash self:

#7 diversity
#9 making you feel bad about not going outside
#15 yoga
#28 not having a TV
#29 80's night
#34 architecture
#37 renovations
#41 indie music
#49 vintage
#50 irony
#51 living by the water
#55 apologies

NEWS FLASH

I AM OFFICIALLY A RED-HEAD. pictures to come.

not so perfect

"You're not perfect sport, and let me save you the suspense, this girl you met, she isn't perfect either. But the question is whether or not you're perfect for each other."

question of the ages

"What do women want?"

"We have no idea what we want."

"I knew it!"

i saw this marvelous movie last night for the second time and loved it even more than i did the first run around. walking out i realized how truly quoteable this movie really is. i couldnt help but recognize the honest irony of this quote and thought it was worthy to post in my favorite quotes of all time!

to be or not to be

i am pretty much in love with this whole look! i want that little dress and that adorable little cardigan, ive got the "ice man" shades covered so i just gotta get that sweet little get up and i will be set! more importantly i think i have just always dreamed of having red hair. i freakin love it! i love how bomb this whole outfit looks with her hair and complexion. i dont think i have ever been able to shake the deep desire to be ariel from 'the little mermaid', and thus my obsession with wanting to be a red-head. thus, i have decided at this point in my life i have nothing to loose and may as well try being a red-head; opinions?

laugh a little

today, as i was just cleaning out old emails a found an old email that my aunt had sent me that i guess i just let slip through the cracks. entitled 'natural highs' i read through the list that i have posted to the right.

on bummer days i just need to reflect on this list. seriously though, there are so many things around us that we just dont give enough credit where deserved. i am so pleased to find this little reminder that emphasizes the fact that money cant buy me love.

todays natural high: giggling. i love having someone in my life that makes me laugh everyday no matter what the task. kids always make me laugh so i thought that i would share this awesome picture that i found:) Live Love LAUGH!
